Kar ke dekho achha lagta hai..!! :)

Namaskaar /\

April is almost over, my internship is on, Bhai took a Flat in Kolkata and grih prvesh kiya…and many more plus minus goin on in life...

Roti, Kapda, Makan!! This blog is focused on KAPDA. The clothes... For social cause.

Earthquake, flood is a disaster, winter is not???
Had winter been a disaster then surely I would have died. How many people die due to cold in India? Is it cold which kills more people than these disasters?

It is not the cold but the lack of clothing which KILLs. Cloth is the first sign of power, people recognize you with the kind of cloth you wear.

The poverty in rural India is making people helpless. Their basic needs are to be fulfilled. Woman in rural areas need saree blouse and petticoat but in urban areas we donate jeans tops, that too we don’t donate, We discard!! . Cloth is normally seen as a charity and not as a resource for development.

People mostly give their old cloth at the time of disasters but the fact is that more than half of this country doesn't need a disaster to be helped. There is huge mismatch of shapes and sizes between the clothes that are donated by the urban people and the requirement of the needy.

Here comes GOONJ, an NGO. They believe that just by re-using our old clothes the problem of clothing for the poor can be solved to a very large extent. Cloth is given as a motivation, with dignity, to people working on their own community issues. We turn age old charitable cloth into a resource for much needed development work in Indian villages.

So I support this noble cause. I will donate clothes every year.

From the practical point of view, You can’t share your poverty, you can share your wealth. First generate wealth, set yourself, then go for other aspects of life. But friends let us all find a CAUSE to support.
